Birthday Suprise :)

Saturday November 15th 2008

Today was the starter of my birthday celebrations. Being my 18th birthday on Thursday, my best friends - the fabulous beings - have pulled out all the stops.

I was whisked away in the car on saturday morning by my four best friends - having only been told to make myself comfortable for a long journey. I was quite thoroughly confused and rather clueless as to what was happening! After two hours or so (the first part spent dancing and singing, the later part very much asleep!) I began being warned to keep my eyes closed due to signs around us. We eventually arrived at our destination, and I was led from the car with my eyes still shut, led a short distance to our exact location, where I was left to stand, awaiting permission to open my eyes, while my friends stood - camera's ready - awaiting my reaction! After what seemed like minutes ofsuspense (probably a mere few seconds!) I was given the OK and open my eyes to see a large 'Bristol Zoo' sign - much to my delight! Squeels and yelps were let out and hugs exchanged. My immediate thought, and their reasoning behind he trip; Zoo = Penguins! Love of my life :)

We wandered around the zoo, fascinated. First stop were the Lions, which were just magnificent! One of each sex. The male was so beautiful, he was breath-taking! The whole experience was unreal!

And nearer the end of our trip - I spotted them! A few penguin heads, bobbing from a higher level. I immediately welled up! The effect they have over me is ridiculous! We made our way round and up and as we entered the area the tears came flowing thick and fast. I was so overwhelmed! They were so close, and so beautiful, it seemed far too good to be true! As I watched in silence, stunned, my two best boys then informed me that as my present they adopted a share in the penguins for me, so I am part owner of them! Falling just short of a heart attack, I collapsed on my boys in tears, smiling immensley! I cannot think of a better present!

We stayed to watch their feed, and listen to the Penguin talk, before finishing our wander around and beginning our journey home (having first picked up a few bits of penguin merchandise from the store!) It was an incredible day, in an incredible place, with incredible people :) I couldn't have asked for anything more!

McFly Radio:Active Tour

Friday November 14th 2008

Unusual for a person of my age, I was yet to attend a concert until this night, which made my excitement oh so much more. Having always been a loyal Mcfly fan, I was wildly eager to see them, and the boys most certainly didn't disappoint!

I attended the gig with my best friend and her two sisters. The three hour drive to Birmingham from North Devon went suprisingly quickly - I imagine due to excitement and much napping also!

When we arrived at the NEC the buzz of the atmosphere was incredible! We purchased our merchandise (programmes, posters and T-shirts) and found our seats - which were rather pleasing.

The support act called 'Avenue' (which I was unfamiliar with) was most pleasing, and flared our moods even higher. By the time Mcfly were ready to appear (after having arrived by helicopter directly after their Children in Need performance) the atmosphere was unreal. Screams roared throughout the stadium and we were left speechless!

The boys kicked off to a superb start and the entire set was truelyawesome! Mid way through the concert, the stage was lifted and quite literally flew above everyone to the central area of the arena - mere yards from our seats! It was ridiculous how close they were!

My personal highlight, it must be said, was a rendition of Michael Jackson's 'Black or White,' sung by Danny. Being a loyal MJ fan and big-time Danny fan, this was indeed, my personal heaven!

The set was ended with none other than the classic 'Five Colours in her Hair' - A perfect end to a perfect evening. The concert matched and bettered my high expectations and was an incredible evening.

Well done, boys! xx
